The AppManager client resource monitor requires 25 MB of available disk space on the drive on which it will be installed.

MC_4.2

The AppManager client resource monitor installer requires 30 MB of available disk space on the temp drive for temporary installation files. The installer identifies the temp drive by checking the environmental variable TEMP. If TEMP does not exist, the installer checks the environmental variable TMP. If TMP does not exist, the installer uses the system root directory specified in the registry by the value "SystemRoot" under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion.

MC_5

The AppManager client resource monitor requires the use of port 9998. If this port is being used by another application, reconfigure the application to use another port.

Note: If using the AMADMIN_AgentInstall Knowledge Script, also open TCP port 9979.

MC_6

(Optional) To use MAPI Mail recovery actions, Microsoft Exchange Client must be installed. In addition, you need to create a Windows domain account and an Exchange mailbox for AppManager to use. For information on installing Exchange Client and creating a mailbox, see your Exchange Administrator.

Note: The pre-installation check program is unable to verify this requirement. If you want to use MAPI Mail recovery actions, you need to verify this requirement yourself.

MC_7

AppManager client resource monitor requires MDAC 2.0 or higher. Please install MDAC 2.0 on your system. For information on which version of MDAC to install and copies of the MDAC installation programs, see the \appmanager\extras\utilities\mdac_setup folder on the AppManager installation CD.

MC_7.1

MC_11

The Windows Authentication feature requires 128-bit Encryption support, which is available with Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Windows NT 4.0 with the High Encryption Pack.

You might need to change how IIS authenticates users who attempt to start an Operator Web Console session:

To allow users to anonymously access the Login page of the Operator Web Console from a Windows or Linux computer using a supported Web browser.

Enable anonymous access.

Using this configuration, you must specify a SQL user name and password to log into the Web management server and begin a Operator Web Console session.

To only allow authenticated Windows users to access the Login page of the Operator Web Console.

Disable anonymous access.

Using this configuration, you cannot log into the Web management server from a Linux computer.

If you disable anonymous access, you must choose an authentication method:

-- Enable Integrated Windows authentication to configure IIS to automatically authenticate the current Windows user with Internet Explorer. If you enable Anonymous access, this authentication method is not used. Note that if you enable this authentication method, IIS will always try to use the integrated Windows authentication method, even if basic authentication is enabled.
-- Enable Basic authentication to allow Windows users to authenticate themselves, for example, by using a different Windows user name and password than the current Windows user. Keep in mind that this authentication method transmits the user name and password to the IIS server in unencrypted form. If integrated Windows authentication is enabled, this authentication method is not used.

Regardless of which authentication method you choose, you can log into the Web management server and begin a Operator Web Console session by using the authenticated Windows user or by specifying a SQL user name and password.
